Greenlands is an ongoing exploration into English rural town life. Since I have moved back to Stourbridge my hometown in the West Midlands I have struggled to see the community values that once existed; the sense of family within a street or the shared commodities of neighbours; these days we are lucky to be friends with our neighbours. The introduction of the handsfree and wireless age is producing more people who are being sucked in to daytime television and Windows 7. This project has sparked a challenge in the way that I as a photographer am working – by spending countless hours on the Internet I have been more aware that I need to get away from the brick and carpet that surrounds me and go exploring.
*Greenlands will be exhibited at Westbourne Grove Church between 8th September - 19th October 2010.
